Since I am updating our blog, must mean we have some exciting news to share with you all:
We have officially started the foster to adopt program here in Pennsylvania! We are in the early stages of paperwork and home-studies. We are looking to adopt a sibling group from PA of probably 2 kids. We do not know who these children are as of yet and we are praying for God's leading in this journey. This part of the process will take several months to complete. We will then be one step closer. We only know how international adoption process works, so this is a new journey for us as well. Prayers for our family with the upcoming transition for everyone involved. We had our initial home visit last week, we are working with Community Services Group out of Harrisburg, PA. We had called close to ten agencies before deciding on this one. We have a unique situation as the state of PA only allows you to have six children in the home at once for foster care (that would include the foster child). We are praying as we go for the right judge and paperwork to clear to allow us to have a total of 7 kids in our home. We feel called to adopt a sibling group at this time. God is mighty and can move mountains, so we start this journey by trusting in Him every step of the way.
Jim was asked once "Are you done adopting?'" His response makes my heart melt: "As long as there are orphans in this world, I don't view our work as ever done."
