What a beautiful day, One year ago today I was shopping (at of course Target) and I received a phone call that would change our lives forever. It was about 8:00pm on a Sunday night and it was our adoption agency on the phone telling us they have four children available for adoption ages 7,5,4,1, 2 girls and 2 boys. They needed to know that night if we were interested otherwise this sibling group would be passed on to the next agency. I tried to get a hold of Jim but he did not have his cell phone on him. I then called our neighbor Phyllis and thankfully she was more than willing to go knock on our door to have him call me. I could have just driven home but the 10min drive was too long, I had to talk to Jim right then. I had tears in my eyes as I talked to him and told him about the children. I knew this was the family God had for us, but if any of you have ever been there, nothing is 100% certain when it comes to adoption. We spent the next several months on our knees, completing paperwork, and watching God do amazing things to provide the money we needed to go. 3 short months later we were in Colombia meeting our children for the first time. What an amazing 9 months it has been.
Prospero celebrated his 2nd birthday this past week. He had such a great time and enjoyed the cake and presents he received. Thanks to all the phone calls he got, it was so cute to see his face light up as he listened to you all singing Happy Birthday. He even would join in sometimes. We had a baptism service at the lake on sunday, one of my favorite services of the year. It was such a blessing watching how God has changed the lives of everyone that got baptized. We have had a busy July, Jim went on a missions trip with the Jr High group to Duluth. We also enjoyed some time with family in mid July when Tia Jan and Tia Anita, Grace and Rachel came up for the week. We look forward to Tia Melissa coming up on saturday for visit.
